We’d like to invite you to the 1st Annual “Becoming a Big Fish Contest,” sponsored by the Concept to Market Institute at Maharishi University of Management (MUM), in Fairfield, Iowa.
The Becoming a Big Fish Contest-- a Shark Tank-like event-- is all about college students identifying and developing their own ideas for new products, business and services and setting the stage for them to become a reality. Maybe winning some prize money along the way.
All you have to do is write up your business concept statement based on the guidelines below, send it to us by June 1st, and plan on being in Fairfield, Iowa on June 8th.
This event is part of a day-long conference—Transformative Entrepreneurs-- beginning at 10:00 am featuring talks by nationally known leaders in business and social entrepreneurship. Join us in the morning of June 8th for this special event, free to all students.
The contest will take place from 2:00 to 3:15. Five finalists will give a 2-3 minute elevator pitch to nationally known judges such as Kevin Harrington, one of the original sharks on Shark Tank and Joe Sugarman the creator and owner of Blue Blocker sunglasses (worn by Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover). Judges will ask questions and give feedback on each finalist’s presentation. Cash and Scholarship prizes will be announced.
Rules for “Becoming a Big Fish”

The Concept Summary should answer the following questions:
1. What is your creative, transformative and innovative idea?
2. What is the product or service you will create?
3. Who are your target customers?
4. What makes your idea unique?
5. How does this business build on your personal strengths and advance your career goals?
